Alerts on this website are only issued for major emergencies involving cyclones, fires, floods, earthquakes and hazardous material spills. Alerts for tsunamis can be found on the Bureau of Meteorology website.

Not all bush fire alerts are published on this site. Information about bush fires outside FESA’s jurisdiction can be obtained by:
- visiting the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) website for information about bush fires or prescribed burns on land managed by the DEC (State forests, timber reserves, national parks, conservation parks and nature reserves). Alternatively, please phone (08) 9334 0375.
- contacting your local government for information about bush fires or burn offs in areas outside Gazetted Fire Districts (which include towns and metropolitan areas) and areas managed by the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC).

During a serious emergency, you can also obtain information by:
- listening to your local ABC Radio station at 15 minutes past the hour and 15 minutes to the hour or
- ringing 1300 657 209 for regularly updated messages.
