FESA advises that the bush fire which threatened homes in Werribee Road, Burma Road and McMullen Road in Wundowie is now under control.
To prevent the fire escaping crews are working to strengthen containment lines and will monitor the area for the rest of the night. |

People are being urged to take action to stay safe with the severe thunderstorms predicted in the Goldfields and southeast coastal district this afternoon and evening.
The Bureau of Meteorology has advised that the storms may be accompanied by flash flooding, large hail and damaging winds that may result in damage to homes and property. |

Crews are currently mopping up and will leave the area safe. |

Bushfire warning for South West Balingup and Greenbushes area |

The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) advises residents in the Lewana, Wrights Bridge, Ferndale and Greenbushes areas that all fire alerts have been downgraded due to reduced fire behavior and continuing success with containment strategies.
Alerts will be reissued tomorrow in the event there is a change in conditions. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and to continue to listen to ABC radio, especially as the weather warms up tomorrow. |

Residents in the Greenbushes and West Greenbushes area also should implement their bushfire management plans and be prepared for falling embers. Local winds are pushing embers and smoke towards the Greenbushes area. |
